Bonding and spending time with a Labrador

Author:
C. Covington

The best way to train a Labrador retriever is to introduce the dog to people and other pets gradually to give the animal time to adjust and get used to being around others. This particular breed is noted to be extremely friendly towards people and other animals, but to be on the safe side it’s recommended to introduce new people and animals gradually. Labradors are relatively easy to train since they’re trained to do many jobs from security detail to assisting people with disabilities and who handicapped. Labradors tend to adjust quickly to other people and animals, but always monitor the dog’s temperament because too many people assume that the dog is sweet and will like people. That’s not always true because sometimes dogs can get aggressive when around other people. It’s always wise to introduce people first and see how that pans out. You want to make sure the dog takes to people well then you can begin to introduce other animals. Always observe the dog’s reaction with both people and other animals. If the dog can adjust to other pets and people without aggression and growling then the dog is ready to openly socialize with other animals and people outside of your home. Labradors tend to bond well with people who are friendly and who are nice to them. Labradors have extremely sensitive feelings and can sense when someone isn’t a friendly person. Labradors are socially active and can bond with other dogs quickly.

Labradors are compatible with German Shepherds, and other breeds that are deemed by breeders and the American Kennel Club to have a friendly disposition and are not known to be super aggressive. If potential owners are looking for a second dog as a playmate for another dog, Labradors are compatible only with other breeds that are identical to them in temperament and personality. The reason is that they will get along with other dogs and humans and are less likely to be aggressive towards other people and dogs. A qualified, licensed dog trainer can help you with basic steps in dealing with behavioral issues to help your Labrador adjust to a normal healthy home life.

Once you bring a Labrador in your home they can bring their warm, loving  personality  into your life because they are friendly and get along great in homes with children. They make great companions for the elderly. They’re not too frisky and are not the least bit fickle in the sense of jumping on people and getting overly playful, they tend to calm down on command. It’s ideal to have a fairly good sized home with a yard because Labradors were bred for the outdoors. Providing plenty of space for this breed encourages sufficient exercise, which in turn adds to their quality of life. The perfect home environment for a Labrador is warm and friendly. Labradors thrive and are able to maintain the highest quality of life when they live in an environment that is beneficial to them.

Physical facts of the Yorkie
Yorkshire Terriers are a long-haired breed with no undercoat, which means that they do not shed. Rather, their hair is like human hair in that it grows continuously and falls out rarely (only when brushed or broken). While this is a blessing to pet allergy sufferers, Yorkies definitely prefer to be warm and cozy, and are without a doubt not a breed to keep outside in a kennel. Spinal problems can affect this breed, and can cause a reduction in mobility. Yorkies may have a tendency to tartar build-up on the teeth, but if regular attention is given to the teeth this should not be a serious problem. However as with most pure bred dogs, Yorkies are also prone to a great deal of hereditary and congenital diseases, which can be very costly. Among these diseases are problems with the liver, brain, and skeletal structure. In addition, their small frame leaves them very prone to injury and difficulties giving birth. They are sensitive to many medications, and are typically...
